“D.D.G.M.’s Official Visit” Attendance Award (Nightly)

The Travelling Cane was donated by R.W. Bro. Terence J. Brown, District Deputy Grand Master of Hamilton B District, on Monday October 1, 2009, as an incentive program for B District Lodges to visit on the night of the D.D.G.M.’s Official Visit.

  • The Travelling Cane can only be won by a Lodge from Hamilton B District.
  • The Lodge with the greatest number of members present wins the Travelling Gavel.
  • In case of a tie, and to encourage Worshipful Masters and Line Officers to visit, the Lodge with the highest ranking Line Officer present breaks the tie and wins. If for example both Masters were present, then you would continue down the line until one lodge outranks the other. (Titles such as R.W., V.W., P.M. are not considered, but only reference to their Line Officer title.)
  • The Lodge designated as the Official Visiting Lodge that evening cannot win the award.
  • The Lodge in possession of the Travelling Gavel must take it to the next Official Visit.
